iRobot Scooba Floor Washing Robot

Add water to a gremlin, you get a litter of new gremlins. Add water to a prune, you get a reconstituted plum. Add water to a Roomba, and you get a severe electric shock resulting in injury or death. So the cybernetic janitorial technicians at iRobot conjured forth the Scooba, which does for your mop what the Roomba does for your broom: turns it into a museum piece. (By the way, it's OK to feed the Scooba after midnight.)

The iRobot Scooba 5900 just needs one trip around the room to wet up your floors and wipe up your filth, in four mechanized steps. First, the scooping up of garbage. Second, the spraying of the cleaning solution. Third, the spinning of the scrub-brush. Fourth, the vacuuming and the squeegeeing of the crud. Off it goes into a special holding tank, where it will be held without access to an attorney until such time as you determine that it no longer presents a danger to the American people. Or until its battery runs out after 80 minutes and you decide to empty the tank. You're the decider.

And what do you do while it's wandering? Microwave an enchilada. Play some Tekken 5. Clean the lint from your navel. Find an Internet boyfriend. Do whatever you want, except mop up the floor. The Scooba is a jealous guardian, and it has marked its territory with its aromatic spray. It might be painful to turn your own floors over to a cold, impersonal robot - but as long as they aren't carpet, unsealed wood, or laminate wood like Pergo, it's for the best.
