Woot Contest 99: Get A Caftan For Two Moons

Two things occured to us as we were pondering this week's contest. During Woot-Offs, our product descriptions come fast and furious, with a (let's say) less-than-Melvillian level of detail. But many of them have a bigger story to tell - a story that an imaginative, skilled writer could weave into a novel. The other thing we thought about was how much we like anagrams. Hence, your challenge:

Design the cover for a novel starring a product we've sold in the current Woot-Off - and make the title an anagram of the product's name.

That oughtta get you working both sides of the brain, huh? The guidelines about the product's name are the same as last week's - any significant part or parts of our official sale title (in other words, the title of that item's blog post) are fair game, with one new exception: you can't add anything to the name to make your anagram work. You can use an existing novel cover or create a new one. Neither book covers nor anagram generators are hard to find on the web, so get 'choppin.

Post your entry here by 11:59 PM CDT on Sunday, November 19, 2006. Prizes are $20/$50/$100 for 3rd/2nd/1st. The rules and criteria for winning: our panel of geniuses can and will make stuff up as it goes along. Use Photoshop, pen and ink, collage, MSPaint, scrimshaw carving, tattoos, ice sculpture, whatever, but it'll only be judged if it's visible in our forums as a jpg, gif, or png. Try to keep your maximum width to 450px. If you need a place to host your pictures, try www.imageshack.ws or www.photobucket.com. We have no connection to either, but they seem free and easy to use. And if you want us to be sure your entry was indeed your work, post links to your source images. The more sure we are that you did your own work, the more likely we are to consider it for a prize.

Past money winners: If you'd like to nominate any entries from this week's contest, email your selections (with links to the individual post) to Jason at jtoon@woot.com by noon CDT on Monday.
