You can tell it's a multifunction digital camera because it says "multifunction digital camera" right there on the casing.

So not only can you take snapshots at a max res of 2272×1704, you can also record video, overdub sound, connect to a TV with the video out hookup, or use it as a webcam. With 16MB of internal memory and a slot for an SD or MMC card, the MDC-4000 can even serve as a portable USB 1.1 drive. It doesn't perform any of those functions at a level beyond "decent", but whaddya want for sixty bucks postpaid? Oh, wait, you just answered that question.
